J.C. Taylor, a sixth-generation Texan and lifelong Kendall County resident, announced his candidacy for Kendall County Commissioner, Precinct 2. Running as a proven conservative, Taylor emphasized implementing a long-term strategic vision, protecting property rights, and ensuring responsible infrastructure planning as the region experiences rapid growth.
With his children representing the fourth generation of his family raised in Kendall County, Taylor brings a personal commitment to preserving the community's values, safety, and rural character. An active community servant involved with organizations including the Fair Oaks Ranch Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus, Taylor stated that effective leadership means listening first and serving always.
If elected, Taylor will focus on three key priorities. First, he proposes creating Kendall County's first unified five-year strategic plan to guide responsible growth, land use, water resource management, and county services. Second, he will prioritize infrastructure, including road maintenance, water security, and sustainable funding for volunteer fire and EMS services, particularly in high-growth areas like Bergheim. Third, he aims to strengthen public safety partnerships between the county, cities, school districts, and state agencies.
"We can't rely on short-term fixes. We need sustainable, long-term solutions that reflect how Kendall County will look five, ten, and fifteen years from now," said Taylor. "I've seen Kendall County change - some of it good, some challenging. We need principled leadership that plans ahead, protects what makes our community special, and ensures government works alongside residents - not against them."
Taylor serves as Vice President of Strategy at the family-owned Texas Star Nut & Food Company, and his professional experience in business strategy informs his practical approach to county governance.
