The DFW Car and Toy Museum has recently introduced a significant artifact to its collection, a fully restored 1929 Chevrolet Series LQ International Wrecker, which serves as a vivid reminder of the early 20th-century's automotive and engineering advancements. Equipped with a 194-cubic-inch inline-six engine and a three-speed manual transmission, the wrecker exemplifies the mechanical robustness and simplicity that characterized vehicles of the late 1920s. Its restoration in 2019 has preserved not only its functional aspects, such as the operational Manley boom and Beebe Bros. five-ton winch, but also its unique period-specific accessories, including a Coca-Cola-branded cooler and a chicken enclosure, which add a layer of cultural context to its historical narrative.
