The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, through the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center, will dispatch five Tokyo-based infrastructure and cleantech companies to POWERGEN 2026 in San Antonio, Texas. This initiative builds upon the long-standing regional economic cooperation framework between Tokyo and Texas, aiming to strengthen business collaboration while fostering technology exchange in critical sectors such as power, water, and disaster resilience.
The selected companies offer practical solutions addressing urgent challenges faced by U.S. utilities and engineering, procurement, and construction contractors. Nichibou Co., Ltd., a specialist in fire protection systems and disaster prevention equipment, maintains a 24/7 maintenance framework for lifeline infrastructure and is internationally recognized as the first to obtain UL certification for its erase-tube fire suppression device. Noatech Co., Ltd. provides advanced water treatment technologies using its proprietary inorganic powder coagulant, Super Namit, supporting PFAS-compliant treatment across various applications with environmentally friendly solutions that enable safe discharge and water reuse.
Sketch Co., Ltd. develops nano-coating technologies that enhance energy efficiency while extending building lifespan, with implementations in over 1,000 Japanese facilities and distributor networks in more than 40 countries. System Brain Corporation offers nano-cleaning and surface protection systems for solar panels and infrastructure, reducing maintenance costs with landmark installations including Japan's Imperial Palace. Yamaguchi Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., through its U.S. subsidiary American Katerra, LLC headquartered in San Antonio, delivers sustainable infrastructure solutions using proprietary Green Carbon Steel™ and Blue Carbon Steel™ materials.
These technologies directly address core needs of U.S. utilities, including power resilience and rapid recovery, fire safety and protection of critical infrastructure, water treatment and PFAS regulatory compliance, energy efficiency and operational cost reduction, and infrastructure modernization supporting distributed energy resource expansion. The Tokyo-Texas relationship has developed through business exchange, governmental cooperation, and technology partnerships, with participation in POWERGEN 2026 representing a strategic step in deepening this collaboration and advancing innovation in global energy and infrastructure sectors.
