Comcast RISE Program Empowers Small Businesses in Southeast Texas with $500,000 in Grants and Support

Comcast has announced a significant initiative to support small businesses in Southeast Texas through its Comcast RISE program, offering a total of $500,000 in grants alongside a suite of support services. This effort targets 100 eligible small businesses in Houston, providing them with not just financial assistance but also technology makeovers, marketing support, and educational resources. Loren Hudson, SVP and Chief Diversity Officer at Comcast, emphasized the critical role small businesses play in the economy and community development, highlighting the program's aim to empower these entities for expansion and growth.

From May 1 to May 31, small businesses in Houston have the opportunity to apply for the Comcast RISE grant package at www.ComcastRISE.com. The package is comprehensive, including a $5,000 monetary grant, production and placement of a 30-second TV commercial, a technology makeover for Comcast Business services over 12 months, coaching sessions, and access to online entrepreneurship courses. This initiative is designed to address various needs of small businesses, from financial support to marketing and technological upgrades.

Ashley Gomez, co-founder of 132 Design and a previous beneficiary of the Comcast RISE program, shared her positive experience, noting the timely support and the community of opportunities the program provided. The Comcast RISE initiative is a key component of Project UP, Comcast's broader commitment to promoting digital equity. Through programs like Comcast RISE, the company seeks to connect individuals to the internet, foster economic mobility, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs and creators, thereby contributing to the vitality of local communities and the broader economy.
